Description
3M Flexible Diamond Band 6457J is ideal for hard-to-grind materials. The diamond abrasive is metal-bonded to a flexible backing for both durability and the ability to work on contours. The band is ideal for use on rubber wheel attachments like cushion polishing wheels and rubber slotted expander wheels (both sold separately).Excels at Light-Pressure Grinding on Contoured surfaces
Combining the strength of a diamond abrasive with a flexible, conformable backing, our 3M™ Flexible Diamond Band 6457J is built for achieving refined finishes, even around contours. Most suitable for applications such as blending and finish sanding of contours, this diamond abrasive is built for use on hard-to-grind surfaces including thermal sprays, carbides, composites, chilled iron, non-ferrous metals and glass.
Built Tough, Finishes Fine
We adhere the diamond mineral particles on 3M™ Flexible Diamond Band 6457J using a metal bond. Metal bonds tend to be very tough — helping to retain the diamond abrasive and make it more durable. This flexible cloth backing works very well for complicated geometries.
Our Open Dot Pattern: What Does It Mean?
The open dot pattern on each 3M™ Flexible Diamond abrasive product means that the diamond mineral particles are adhered to the backing in a series of small dots. This is designed to provide aggressive cutting action while also allowing consistent space for evacuation of swarf during use, helping reduce loading and prolonging the life of the abrasive surface without sacrificing cut rates.
