The special bit steel has machine-ground flutes and polished edges for smooth, wobble-free boring, and the feed-screw pilot draws the bit into wood. Its full length is heat-treated and tempered, and the deep, open-throat design clears chips for faster, cleaner cuts. Shanks are 7/16-Inch hex to fit 1/2-Inch and larger three-jaw chucks.
